Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out. If you have had your periods, then it is definitely a good sign. Normally, it takes a little longer for the cycles to return in PCOS after initiation of metformin. Having periods is an indication of ovulation. However, the weight loss plays a very important role and there’s a possibility that you have been exercising in the recent past and reduced your calorie intake and that plays a vital role in the normalization of the menstrual cycle.

Please do consult a physician as it is not possible to make an online diagnosis. I sincerely hope this information helps. Take care.
