Birth Control Answer A42896
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
If the symptoms have started after IUD insertion, chances of infection could be possible. If there are other symptoms associated (like foul smell, discomfort, pain, altered discharge etc), chances of infection cannot be ruled out as it becomes easy for infective agents to reach uterus through the IUD strings. It is difficult to comment on the exact cause for the symptoms that you describe without examining you and going ahead with further evaluation. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for follow-up visit and thorough evaluation to look for the underlying cause. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and evaluation results) would be started to help you control the symptoms and regulate your periods better.
Take care.
