pain behind the right corner of my rib.

User Profile
I am a 25 year old male and for the past 4 years I've had a pain behind the right corner of my rib. It hurts while I\'m swallowing food but now I can feel it randomly throughout the day as well. It seems the larger and thicker the piece of food I eat, the more I can feel the pain. It\'s almost like the food is hitting something on the way down to my stomach. It started as a very light dull pain but has gotten progressively worse. My family doctor has no idea what it could be and sent me for an x-ray two years ago but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Do you have any ideas what it might be?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. This pain looks like a gastric discomfort. Gallbladder stones or inflammation can also present this ways. Pancreatic profile should be done. IBS should be a suspicion too. Needs diet and lifestyle modifications and supportive care till then.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
