My boyfriend was recently prescribed some Otex ear drops to help dissolve the wax in his ears. Is this product safe for me to use or is it a specialist medication? I perforated my ear drum about a year ago and I am worried that I should not put anything in there! Can anyone give advice? Smile

Usually a perforated ear drum will heal in about 2 to 3 weeks, but some may take longer like two months. If it has been a year and it feels better to you than it is probably healed. Most wax cleaning drops say to not use if you have a perforated ear drum...so if you think that yours has not healed I would advise not using the drops.
