What is known about ostomy patients and traveling? Are ostomy patients able to travel far distances? Do they necessarily have restricted diets, and if so, do most of them complain about their restrictions? I need to know since I know someone with an ostomy who complains constantly about not being to eat certain items and who lives life as a hermit and does not travel except to nearby states. This person also does not go out to concerts and other events.

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
This is not the case. Indian top actor is ostomy patient but he dances, travel to different places and enjoy a lot of foods.Only flatulence forming agents should be avoided.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
