Birth Control Answer A16155
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Drug-drug interaction studies that have been done, indicate that XENICAL (Orlistat) had no effect on pharmacokinetics and/or pharmacodynamics of oral contraceptives, meaning to say that there have been no reports of loss of efficacy of contraceptives with Orlistat use. However a discussion with your gynecologist about using them together is recommended before starting on the Orlistat.
Take care.
