Hello I am 20 and I recently found out that I am going to be having open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve. I'm pretty scared and nervous about it. What is it going to consist of? What is getting general anesthesia like? How will I feel after? ETC...
Any advice and/or tips are appreciated too. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to EHF !

I went through your query and i think you are overstressing yourself. You are young and i am sure you will recover good and quick however like any big surgery , every procedure has its complications. You should hope for the best. Exact repercussions and outcomes can be told by your cardiac surgeon only after completely correlating your illness.

Take care
