on metformin 500md BD and Folic acid tablets.

I am 27 yr old female, have PCOD and my cycles are regular only when I take metformin+Aldactone 50mg. I am trying to conceive since 2 months. My doc. has suggested me to do ovulation studies. In my first cycle, from 10th day to 19th day- msf and LO msf, ET 5.8 - 7.8. I am on metformin 500md BD and Folic acid tablets. Do you think I can ovulate and conceive?

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

The follicle size is smaller than expected. The size of a mature graffian follicle that is ready to burst and release egg is almost always more than 15mm (usually 18-20 mm). Usually 15 mm size is reached by Day 11 or so in a 28 day cycle. However, this was your first cycle reading of 7.8. This will give your doctors an idea about what medications to start to help your follicles to mature to right size and even to release a healthy ovum.

Please consult your healthcare provider for further guidance. Hope this helped you in making an informed decision about your health. Take care!
