ok to continue feeding the patient after ngt removal?

patient accidentally remove ngt, so we tried to feed him milk but the patient cough on several occasion, after feeding him with milk, is it ok to continue feeding the patient after ngt removal?

That should be determined by the patient's physician. It depends upon the reason for the nasogastric tube.

If the patient cannot control his airway, feeding the patient might result in aspiration of the food, resulting in atelectasis/pneumonia.

The patient's physician should be consulted before continuing to feed the patient.
