The vagina has its own acidity. Changes in the vaginal acidity can alter the normal vaginal bacterial flora, thus causing the vaginal odor.
There are several causes for changes in vaginal acidity, some of them being too much hygiene and hormonal changes. Both these causes might be the reason of bad vaginal odor in your case.
You might want to avoid douching and wearing tight underwear in order to restore the normal vaginal flora and to get rid of the bad vaginal odor.
