This may be long so I'll get right to it:

I just started Nuvaring in September..decided to skip my periods until I started having breakthrough bleeding. Hoping to make the bleeding stop before visiting my bf, I took the ring out on Nov. 22. Period came on 3 days later and was heavy! Didn't put a new ring in a week later and had unprotected sex on Dec. 5th and 7th..I thought I ovulated that week because of increased discharge so I was nervous doing the 2ww...before Nuvaring my cycles were regular and usually 26 days so expected my period to show up Dec. 20 and is the 22nd and I took a dollar tree pregnancy test that I had for a few months and it was negative. I've also been cramping, peeing every hour and had Lower back pain. I heard dollar store tests aren't that sensitive and it has to be stored properly which I didn't know. I had it in my car lol..Anyways I'm only 2 days late if my cycle wasn't altered..could I still be preggo? Or could it be diabetes? Frequent urination was a symptom..should I text again in a few days with a better test?

Thanks for the help!

Good idea! A couple more tests at one week intervals should sort things out. Do you use them on strong first morning pee - lol - if you are peeing every hour it never gets strong.

Welcome to e health forum.

Currently available URINE based home pregnancy tests, are highly sensitive. These tests are recommended to be done at least 1 day after the missed period. A repeat test after 1 week of the missed period, can be considered definitive for a positive pregnancy test.

Performing the tests much before the waiting period , can result in Negative results, and they cannot be relied on.

In case, your period is delayed by more than a week, you may go ahead and do a urine pregnancy test.

If it is still negative, it is likely that you might have missed your cycle, and this could not be related to pregnancy.

Delayed Periods can be caused by other causes including - Stress, anxiety, hormonal disorders (like Hypothyroidism) or due to other physiological causes.

You can wait patiently and you may get your next cycle in due time.

If you are still concerned about being pregnant, in-spite of the 3 negative tests, you may seek proper counselling from your doctor and clear your doubts.

I hope this helps.
