So, I decided to skip my period for my last cycle by leaving my ring in for four weeks, and then switching it out with a new one and leaving that one in for 3 weeks.

However, I am supposed to take out this new ring next week and have my period, but I just got mine last night. Is this because I skipped mine last time and my body is in a funk now? I'm kind of concerned something may be wrong...

The fourth week should be ring-free, which allows you to have your menstrual period. I think that the early period could be a result of leaving the ring in for four weeks straight. If early vaginal bleeding occurs frequently, I suggest that you consult with your gynecologist.
