All my life I have had irregular periods up until I got pregnant... My pregnancy was a highrisk pregnancy...I suffered from hypertension and preeclamsia. I had to have a C-Section..I breastfed for 2mo after and dried up. had two normal periods then didnt have any for 8 months then one day I decided to go see a doctor and a week before my appointment I started! and since then Ive had regular periods on the dot... My weight has always been on the hefty side and when I got preg. my wt was 236. after I had the baby my wt was 270 so I decided it was time to lose the wt and the 1st yr didnt go so well but so far this year ive managed to put myself down to 230- ...2 months ago I had my period on June 21st...and then spotted lightly on July 5th 6th and 7th... had noncontraceptive intercoarse on the 24th...and am now almost 2 wks 2 days late...going off my last period on the 21st...1 wk 1 day late...going on the 3 day spotting... Ive tested three times and have had negative results...what now?

Am I Pregnant Answer A26001
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
If your period had been regular for some time, then it indicates that you were having periodic and regular ovulation. Unprotected intercourse in this circumstance could lead to pregnancy. The urine pregnancy test (UPT) kits are calibrated ones, so unless the hormone levels in urine reach a certain level, they do not show positive results. They can also show false negative results. Look out for development of any other new symptoms. Wait and watch for your next periods. If you have not started with periods within 10 days of expected period dates or if you have developed any new symptoms suggestive of early pregnancy, or if you get abnormal periods, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.
