I had sex on 18th nov for the first time. I bled for three days after a few days of my first intercourse. at first it didnt look like my normal period.then it looked normal.this whole thing started on 22nd nov. Its now 23rd december. I still havnt got my periods. although its just a day late, Im still axious. I have had a history of my periods being late by a day or so. ( as I was given injections when I was young to suspend my periods as it started at the age of 8 . ) My nipples are sore, but there is only iching. No pain. apart from iching ( which I think it is due to the cold) there is no headache or mood swings or anything. also, I took a contraceptive pill. there is a white discharge. Am I pregnant?

Am I Pregnant Answer A18050
Welcome to the ehealthforum. I am glad to help you out.

To confirm the status of pregnancy, I would suggest you to get your urine for pregnancy test.

In case, it is negative then serum HCG levels should be done since this is more sensitive than urine for pregnancy tests.

The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy.

If pregnancy is ruled out, then other causes of delayed periods need to be looked into.

It can happen because of hormonal imbalance, increased stress, eating disorder, caffeine use and medical conditions like PCOS, fibroid, polyps and endometriosis. So my suggestion would be to consult a gynecologist and get serum HCG levels done.

Confirmation can be done by an ultrasound uterus. Not only it clears the status of pregnancy but also can help in diagnosing medical conditions causing delayed periods.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
