Nerve Damage, Pain, & Large Hernia-Like Bulge On Outer Thigh

I was diagnosed with nerve damage in my right outer thigh about four years ago and I've never been able to get rid of the pain but it's gone down to a two on the pain scale. On Saturday all of a sudden my pain started rising and by yesterday it hit a full on ten. I can't lay on it, touch it, or even barely walk on it. It even hurts when nothing is touching it and I've developed a large hernia-like bulge on the top just below the hip. I have no idea what's wrong. Can anyone help me?
