I had sex for the first time without protection, and i bled a little the whole week after, then that monday i woke up with which i thought was my period but it only lasted one day. Should i be worried enough to take a pregnancy test and if so would it be too early to take one?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
If you were in your fertile days or days closer to ovulation time (time of egg release from ovary) at the time of unprotected intercourse, then chances of pregnancy resulting cannot be ruled out. You should have considered taking emergency contraception within 48-72 hours of the intercourse if you are not ready to be pregnant. Urine pregnancy tests usually show positive results after about 20 days post conception, which would roughly correspond to your missed period time. Blood HCG tests can detect pregnancy accurately as early as 11 days post conception. If the bleeding has persisted, then do not delay in going ahead with evaluation done by your doctor/gynecologist. Look out for development of other symptoms suggestive of early pregnancy. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for thorough examination and blood HCG test to confirm/rule out pregnancy.
Take care.
