Hi folks!
Well he is here...in all his glory. Myles Denis Repta arrived on Aug 30th at 4:45am, weighing 7lbs 14oz and 56 cm long. So much for the 10 pounder eh?

My contractions woke me up on Friday Aug 29th at 5am...they felt like menstrual camps...I was confused as this being my first, I wasn't sure what I was feeling. I went back to sleep as they were not strong. Friday was spent lounging etc...no more cramps. But by 5pm they started again. I Googled contractions (OMG how desperate) and it told me that what I was feeling was indeed contractions. You see...Thurs I had my appt with the DR and she checked me and found that I was 1.5 cm dilated. She also confirmed that his head was facing down. I bled that day, so I thought what I was feeling was a result of my Dr checking my cervix. I was wrong!
Anyway...by 10:30 Friday evening, I called my Dr and said that I was in labor. She said to wait and call her back when they were 5 mins apart and 1 minute long. They got fast and furious and I was on my way to the hospital by 2am. When I got there, the nurse in admitting said that I looked way to happy to be in labor. I just told her it was a long time coming!!
Anyway...up on the bed I went...they checked me and I was 5 cm dilated. Then they gave me an ultrasound to check the baby's position...the tech said "I can't find the heartbeat". I totally freaked out. But then she said..."I'm seeing a foot when I should be seeing a head". So that is why there wasn't a heartbeat...because the little bugger had flipped into breech position in less than 24 hrs!! I was very upset that I had to have a c-section. So off I went to the O.R.
The important thing is that he is here safe and sound..and he is lovely.
We are all adjusting. Sleep deprivation is not fun...but I love him to pieces.
Here are a couple of phots of Myles at 6 days old

Congratulations Cheryl!!!! Myles is just gorgeous!!!!!!! Absolutely perfect!!!!

I can't believe how awake he is in those pics for only being 6 days old. I'm so happy for you and your family. Your comment in your birth story about it being a long time coming was absolutely touching!!! And yet completely true...lol

I'm glad you got your wish of becoming a mommy and I'm sure you will be a wonderful one at that. So again congrats and I wish you and Myles the best!!!

Thanks girls~
He is 6 weeks old now..and I think I have finally adjusted. I only need 5 hrs of sleep to function Smile
The first 6 weeks have been quite tumultuous...at 3 weeks we spent 4 nights in the Children's hospital, as he had a fever and high heart rate. He apparently had a virus. They did a spinal tap to make sure it wasn't meningitis, he had an IV in his little hand and they gave him 3 types of antibiotics. We never found out what it was, but he got better. I have to say I NEVER want to ever see Children's hospital again. My heart broke into a million pieces seeing him in that state so young.

Now here we are at 6 weeks, and he has caught a cold!!! Man, motherhood is stressful!! He looks so pitiful in his swing...coughing, sneezing, hiccuping, and now spitting up. It's a sin. Lots of cuddles for him this week.

Hope everyone is well. Thank you for all your kind comments and wishes. "Me" time is rare, but I'll be back!
:O)

Aw poor little sweetheart!!! I'm glad that he got over that virus...it must have been so scary for you. I don't think it ever gets easier when our little ones are sick. Each time is just as scary and stressful as the next...as awful as that may sound. Its just hard to see our babies like that.

I am glad that he is home safe and sound and I hope that he has gotten over that cold...which I am sure he has considering it was a couple weeks ago.

Take care and keep us updated!!
