Hey looking for advice for my mom, she has a colostomy bag and over time due to the weight being on one side... she developed Sciatica due to bulging discs and then as more time passed... developed Drop foot and the foot also points outwards from her body.

They gave her a brace and it helped with the foot dropping... not so much for it pointing outwards but it also hurt to wear.

Has anyone got something similar and could recommend a brace that would help with foot dropping and pointing outwards as she is very down about it... as her foot keeps catching things... she walks at a snails pace always looking at the ground now incase she bumps into things.

thanks

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
AFO drop foot brace is one of the latest. However, it depends upon her adjustment and confort with brace.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
