Hot Toddies/Mulled Wine while Sick - Risk vs. Reward?

I'm fully aware that alcoholic beverages cannot help "cure" a disease--and in fact can depress your immune system, making the illness last longer. However, I find a mug of mulled wine to be extremely comforting when sick (probably because the alcohol dulls my pain/discomfort). For an hour or so, it makes me feel normal again.

I'm sick with a VERY bad flu right now. If I drink 1-2 mugs of mulled wine 1-2 times a day... am I risking making my infection last considerably longer?

Thanks for your help!

I would strongly advise against using wine as symptomatic treatment for the flu. Safer options like antihistamines listerine gargles and acetaminophen or NSAIDS are available and should be utilised.
