Mood stabilizer while pregnant ?

I was put on a mood stabilizer called Lithium Carbonate. Can this have any effect on my unborn child?

Yes, lithium carbonate can affect the unborn child. The drug increases the chance of cardiac and other anomalies, especially Ebstein anomaly. Immediately inform your psychiatrist and your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
