6 months of nausea and top upper abdomen pressure, help.

Hello,

I'm a 18 year old man that has encountered a condition that really makes my life less enjoyable than before. Let me explain.

It all began in January, around the middle of it. It started with random nausea and pain in the top upper abdomen when pressure is applied onto it. However the symptoms weren't constant, so I thought it was the food and sticked to cooked potatoes, carrot, rice, bananas, chicken soup, crackers and so on. It did help to some extent, but not to the end. The problem was also more severe when traveling by a car or a bus, which was an insane problem because my school is in another city and I have to ride a bus for around 90 minutes every day.

I didn't think it was anything special and just continued with my life hoping it would pass eventually. After couple of days I got sick of it and went to a doctor. She thought it was just a gastro virus, gave me some medicine and told me to come back after 2 weeks to check if everything's alright.

After 2 weeks, it was pretty much the same, the pain and nausea stayed and I went to the doctor again. She wanted to test me for H.Pylori, and then proceed with the medications. After my blood was analyzed (IgA and IgG antibodies), they came out positive and it was confirmed that I had H.Pylori. My doctor prescribed me with 2 antibiotics and a control medicine (20mg pantoprazole). After ending the treatment for H.Pylori I was tested for H.Pylori with stool test. It came back negative my doctor confirmed the eradication was successful. That was around middle of February.

After that, my doctor told me it would pass eventually, because the symptoms usually stay a while after H.Pylori. A month passed and it was still the same so I went back to the doctor, she forwarded me to a Gastroenterohepatologist. A fun fact, she also told me that I don't need a specialist, that I should just be more sporty and eat food like mayonaise sandwiches and such.

I finally got to see him in June. I told him about everything, and then he said that I need to do all kinds of tests, all the way from blood tests to multiple stool tests. And then to come back to see him... IN SEPTEMBER.

Now I'm stuck with the same symptoms for a couple more months, becoming desperate for the solution. What do you think I should do?

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and I understand your concern.
You should revisit gastroenterologist after liver function tests, renal function tests and urine analysis. Ultrasound abdomen is also necessary.
I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
Take care
