Mononessa birth control- nauseous and have vomited!

User Profile
I started the Mononessa birth control pill yesterday and I woke up this morning feeling horribly nauseous and have vomited once. I was instructed to take two pills a few hours apart to essentially catch up for Sunday since I started on a Monday. Is this a normal side effect?

Welcome to ehealthforum.
The nausea and vomiting could be attributed to the higher dosage of the hormonal pills that you were advised to take. It should subside with further use of the pills when you start taking them regularly. If the symptoms continue or persist even you are taking 1 pill a day, then you should visit your treating doctor/gynecologist at the earliest to have a thorough check done to decide whether to continue with the pills or stop them and start on alternate ones (preferably low dose one or any other method).
Take care.
