mom says it's my milk glands. I'm still really worried

User Profile
I'm 13 years old, and I've had my period for a year now. I have these lumps in my breasts when I ask my mom, she says it's my milk glands. I'm still really worried because on occasion my right breast will hurt, and I'm worried there might be a tumor in there, I'm not sure how to check, and we are unable to go see a doctor at the moment, please help. I'm so worried it's breast cancer. The lumps are in both breasts.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Breast lumps during pubertal age can be due to hormonal changes and response to breast tissue to cyclical changes in hormonal levels during menstrual cycle. If worried, or if painful, do not ignore the symptoms. Visit your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for further examination, evaluation, clarification and assistance. If there is family history of breast cancer, you may consider getting tumor marker tests done to predict your chances of developing breast cancer. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
Take care.
