My son is 10 months old and we have been back and forth to the doctors for months now dealing with lung issues! His father has asthma which was worse when he was a child. My son has had episodes of not breathing for aprox. 20-30 sec. and then he gasps. He is on steriods and albuterol through a nebulizer now for another bought of croup. Im wondering if we should get a second opinion or if its just croup for the third time in 3 months!

Hi rockstar_mia,

Have you had him seen by a ear, nose and throat specialist? If not you should. Also an allergist should look at him. Do you live or does he sleep in a drafty room, near a window etc? Is the room dusty or his linens?
Consider his enviroment, that could be causing the problem as well.

Good Luck,

Faded Rose

Thanks, I will look into the ear nose and throat spec. His room and linens are cleaned weekly I dont think it is allergies but it wouldnt hurt to check that out too! My family doc is on vacation until next week and our insurance requires a referal so of course I will have to wait!
