hi, i went for a ultrasound cuz i feel some kind of pain in my abdomen and seems like my tummy is becoming large.the ultrasound report says there is mild hydronephrosis of the right kidney.. but my doc said nothing and said everything was ok. the report also says that there is trace of free fluid in the pelvis of unknown etiology but of doubtful significance.. i just wana know if i should worry and go to another doctor or as my family doctor said everything is ok..

Hello and thank you for your post on e health forum.

Hydronephrosis secondary to obstruction can lead to hypertension, loss of renal function, and sepsis.

Once treated, there will no problems with the kidney and its function returns to normal.

You might consult with a urologist and get additional tests and renal functions assessed to know the cause of the hydronephrosis.
