last night i experienced pain in the middle of my chest ... the pain has gone now but there slight inflamation there ... im a professional sportsman and exercise regularly .. is there a need to worry ???

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

Any pain in the middle of chest should be investigated for angina and heart problem. It can also be heartburn or costochondritis. The former will respond to antacids and the latter will cause pain on pressing the point where ribs attach to chest bone and is relieved by local analgesics and heat pad. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
