Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The irregular periods that you describe could be due to PCOS and the medication prescribed is for controlling PCOS and helping you to get pregnant. Start with the medications as instructed, and be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Look out for development of any new symptoms. If you have been trying for pregnancy, consider monitoring cervical mucus changes, cervix position, and the BBT (basal body temperature) charting to predict your ovulation (along with the follicular study if required) and time your intercourse for having fruitful results. Have intercourse in positions that allow for deeper penetration for high deposit of semen. Do not change positions immediately after ejaculation, put pillows under buttocks to minimize semen spill, and avoid getting up within 30 minutes of ejaculation. Have diet with foods rich in zinc content to ensure better maturation of egg and sperms. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation, clarification and assistance.
Take care.
