Menopause and Personality Changes

A friend of mine began to change once she got into menopause. Her patience grew short, she became intolerant and rather paranoid.

Would these changes be due to menopause?

Welcome to ehealthforum,
Women respond differently to menopausal onset. Irritability, mood changes/swings, hot flashes, weight gain, sleep problems, vaginal dryness, loss of sex drive, bloating, skin and nail changes, osteoporosis, headaches, panic disorder, anxiety etc. The symptoms your friend has been having could be attributed to her menopausal onset. If it is affecting her day-to-day activities and social life, she should consider visiting her gynecologist to discuss about option of getting started on HRT for better symptom control.
Take care.
