Lucrin while possibly pregnancy ?

User Profile
Hello Doctor,
I am starting my IVF treatment 1st cycle. Doctor had given me lucrin injections from 19th day of my menstrual cycle and asked to come on the first day of my next menstrual cycle. I has taken around 11-12 lucrin injections and today is my 30th day , still with no onset of menstruation. Doctor called me up again today, he took a scan for me and asked me to undergo a blood pregnancy test. That result also came out negetive . Then he asked me to double the dose of lucrin per day and come to the very first day of my menstruation. I wan to know , is there a possibility that, I would be preganant but blood test result are false and if yes then what effect lucrin will have on my preganancy?
thanks

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
If you are already pregnant then the infertility treatment will not be needed. So it is necessary to confirm if you are pregnant or not. Blood pregnancy tests usually are accurate in detecting pregnancy, if they show negative results, it means that pregnancy is not there. The increased dose of the injection will suppress the ovulation, and make you ready for the start of ovarian stimulation to harvest eggs for the IVF treatment. Continue as instructed by your treating gynecologist. Once you get your periods, you will be ready to start with the treatment. Make sure your thyroid levels are controlled with the current dose of Levothyroxine, else you will need dose adjustment to make sure the thyroid issues do not interfere with infertility treatment.
Take care.
