My period is two days late (normally regular) and I had a negative pregnancy test yesterday. Today my lower back hurts and I fell full in my abdomen. Could I be pregnant?

Menstruation Answer A48368
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The symptoms could suggest PMS symptoms. Having variation of 5-10 days in menstrual cycle length is considered to be normal. If your periods do not start within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you miss your periods, or if you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). If pregnancy gets ruled out, further evaluation would be done to look for exact cause for your delayed period and symptoms. Treatment as appropriate (based on examination findings and evaluation results) would be started to help you control your symptoms and regulate your periods. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
