lower abdomen feels like someone is playing tug-of war

User Profile
Trying for a baby but im a little confused. LMP was 7/10/12 and my estimated OV date was 7/23/12.I had sexual intercourse on 7/21/12.My average cycle length is 27 days and I never have my period on time. This time around 8/6/12 it came on the exact day it was due with no warning no cramps and lasted 3days and stopped and it was bright red thin but it was heavy and it has very tiny clots and Ive never seen this before. This morning 8/9/12 it was brown but by lunch time here comes the bright red again. My lower abdomen feels like someone is playing tug-of war and i have light flutters and pinching sensations in my belly. Im 17dpo 8/9/12 and wanted to know could i still have a chance on being pregnant?

Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum. I am glad to help you out. There’s a possibility that you might have had a miscarriage. Hence, you should get urine for pregnancy test done to rule out miscarriage as the cause of bleeding if you had unprotected sexual intercourse prior to that. The possibility of you being pregnant after such a bleeding is quite less likely. However, it makes sense to consult a gynecologist and rule out other causes of bleeding like fluctuation in hormone levels, hypothyroidism & fibroid in the uterus. It could also be due to a genital infection, cervical polyps or ectopic pregnancy. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
