low white blood count in child

My 6 year old daughter has had a fever for 4 days straight and has swollen lymph nodes on her neck and her under arm. She has testes both positive and negative for strep throat. Her white blood count is 3.4 and her lymph node count is in the high 40's. Any suggestions for me? I am worried

it is an infection and lymphocytes make it likely a viral one. To prevent superinfection, there is no harm in taking prophylactic amoxil antibiotic. Take some ibuprofen 10 mg per kg per dose. And see if it helps. If it does not resolve in 36 hours visit a paediatrician.
