Low Thyroid and natural supplements.

I was border line with my Thyroid level for many years. My thyroid took a dive after my Da Vinci Robotic hysterectomy. I have been on Thyroid pills since then. I have had to have my dosage increased twice since then. I read a natural health book that said Americans are low on Iodine and that is why we have such a high Thyroid issue. I think I will give the Iodine supplement a try. I have been taking Selenium to help my body absorb the Thyroid meds. I hate seeing my Thyroid get lower and lower. What do you think I can do to make my Thyroid healthier? The women on my mom's side of the family all have Thyroid issues. They smoke and drink, but I don't.

Low Thyroid and natural supplements
If you're taking thyroid hormone medicine is important to be careful about taking natural thyroid supplements because they can interfere with your meds. Even too much seaweed can impact your thyroid function. It would be best to consult and work with a naturopath. That being said, iodine, selenium, zinc, vitamin D3, iron and protein are key to promote thyroid health.
