lose weight by doing special breathing exercises?

User Profile
Hello, I recently came across the theory that you can lose weight by doing special breathing exercises.
There are many authors that write about it and I also saw some doctors talking about it (I'm just not sure if I can post links here, but I can send it in a PM if this would be helpful).
So I'd like to get a professional opinion on this from Doctors. The idea they talk about is that these exercises bring more oxygen to the body that burns more fat.
Thank you in advance for your answers and opinions!

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.

It is true that deep breathing exercises can help with weight loss, relaxation, and sense of well being. This is done with the help of yoga exercises and meditation.

Deep belly breathing increases lung capacity, cardiovascular endurance and can tone the abdominal muscles. Hence you can consult a yoga instructor and follow the recommended exercises.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
