looking for advice or any tips on conception.

User Profile
I am looking for advice or any tips on conception. I have previously had a medical termination in February due to trisomy 18 and cystichygroma's. At the time I was 15 weeks.

I then prior to that on October 7th had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. This whole baby thing doesn't seem to be working for me. I was hoping to catch something soon after and have had no luck yet.

I am wondering if there is some advice that you can provide for me? I chart and start 5 days before the 7 day stretch of doing it every day. I am going to start onto some preg vit.

I just really really want a baby! and I am becoming EXTREMELY frustrated and ready to give up.

Getting Pregnant Answer A27064
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Since you have had history of previous miscarriages/early pregnancy losses, you should consider getting Karyotyping tests done for you and your partner to predict chances of normal pregnancy before you start with your next pregnancy plans. Chances of successful pregnancy depends on many factors (ovarian, uterine, hormonal, stress etc). You should consider getting a complete infertility work-up done for you and your partner to see if there are any underlying causes for the infertility/inability to conceive. Hormonal issues, problems involving ovaries and ovulation, uterine problems, cervical or vaginal infections should be ruled out for you. For your partner, semen analysis should be done to rule out infections and to confirm the quality and quantity of sperms produced. Treatment as needed (based on examination and investigations results) would be started to help you get pregnant. Consider visiting your gynecologist/obstetrician for further evaluation and assistance and be in regular follow-up.
Have diet with foods rich in zinc content to ensure better maturation of egg and sperms. Monitor cervical mucus changes and the BBT (basal body temperature) charting to predict your ovulation and time your intercourse for having fruitful results. Keep lying still for sometime after intercourse (do not change positions after ejaculation has occurred). Put pillows under buttocks to minimize spill. Have intercourse in positions that allow for deeper penetration for high deposit of semen.
Take care.
