Long term throat problem. Keen to hear everyones thoughts

Hi everyone, for the last 18-20 months or so I've suffered from tonsillitis and probably had it to the point of being bedbound six times now. I've also had another 6 times where I've managed to prevent it from affecting me too much apart from making me real tired. The last time I had it was Christmas and it was really bad. Since then thing have improve in certain areas and got worse in others. Basically, I think my tonsils have been badly damaged by the repeated bouts of tonsilitis and I now have some large white sediment stuck in the dimples and deep scars, I'm guessing these are tonsils stones and I probably first noticed them around 3 months ago. My issue now is that 2 thyroid glands on the right hand side are quite swollen and I get the occasional mild sore throat. I've been to a specialist who has took blood test and I get the results back Monday but I just wanted to hear some peoples thoughts really. I've always been very healthy and happy but the last q8 months have been qute tough at time especially the last 6 as I lost a family member and broke up with my fiance. I also smoke. Thanks in advance for your help Smile

Hello and welcome to EHF !

I went through your query and i think if these tonsillitis are recurrent and frequent then they need to be removed via surgery> Let an otolaryngologist have a look and decide the management plan accordingly.

Take care
