lived with hernia 15 years

I lived with harnia for more than 15years now without knowing,so i would like to know what are the side effects for that.

Most hernias will not cause life-threatening problems. However, a small minority of patients will go on to develop intestinal obstruction or intestinal strangulation from unrepaired hernias.
