Linea Negra appearance (Page 1)

When did your show up? I noticed it VERY faintly starting at 8 weeeks (i.e when i looked in the mirror i could see it but not if i looked down at my stomach). Now at just about 11 weeks its pretty noticeable to me, although probably not to others. I thought generally it was darker skinned women who get it more often then fair skinned ones. I'm so pale I can't tan and i have a head of reddish blonde hair and blue eyes so i'm definitely not darker by any means!
Anyone else get it? Especially this early? I thought i was imagining it at first and that it was just my pants leaving a mark but as the weeks go on it gets darker. I am not showing much at all either.

yeah i am as white as you can get, light sandy blond hair, blue eyes, only difference between you and me is i do tan. Mine started showing up at 14 weeks and it didn't get very dark or wide, just a thin line about two shades darker than my skin tone. I started showing with my son at 6 months pregnant, he was my "neat" one, perfect round belly carried high and tight. My daughter, well lol she started showing at 3 months and my belly became this huge round roadmap of stretch marks and that darn linea right in the middle of it all lol. Although im not pregnant, i still have the faintest trace of the linea negra.

Im 18 weeks 1 day and i still haven't seen a line at all.. my 2nd cousins fiance is about 24 weeks pregnant and she said she started noticing it around 20 weeks. Ive never heard of the whole light skin dark skin thing. Why do you get the line? is it just from stretching or what?

Its definitely not from stretching! I've only gained 2 pounds and im not showing at all so it can't be from that. I don't think they actually know what causes it. Its just a change in pigmentation in the skin

I had a belly ring too but it fell out when I was pregnant, so I figured, what the heck, I'll just leave it out... Good thing too because since my pregnancy, no one is going to want to look at my nasty belly anymore haha!

You won't have time for a while LOL
I'm still working on mine for almost 2 years now! hahaha!
60 lbs in 8mos is no good!!!!
My doctor told me to quit eating altogether! I got a new doctor Smile
I couldn't help it though, it was either stuff my face or constantly throw up.

Nah, you probably won't blow up like that seeing how far along you already are.

I was 130 when I found out I was pregnant... In the hospital at my induction, they weighed me in at 193! Shocked

wow! were you suprised? lol when did you gain the most? I think that I heard its supposed to be in the last trimester but I know that you have like a huge spurt from like week 20-24 or something. But yeah I think I have gained about 10-15 pounds. Depends which scale I weigh myself on lol but I also know that being underweight Im supposed to gain more than an average pregnant woman. But i think its only like 5 to 10 more pounds.. I definatly eat alot more and get really cranky if I dont get to eat alot! lol I get bad headaches too if I dont eat enough which is kind of a good reminder to me that the baby wants more. Being new to this is kind of tricky sometimes.

I knew I had gained a lot simply from my appearance.
I gained the most right after my 22nd week.

Get this, I was induced at 36 weeks (4 weeks prematurely) and my daughter STILL weighed 6 1/2 pounds! They gain a pound a week at that gestation, so if I had delivered on time, she would have been a 10-pounder!!!!

OH MY GOSH!! wow! yeah i was 3 1/2 weeks early and i was 5lb 13 oz.. Im hoping this baby is small because otherwise Im going to have a HARD labor! Im so scared! lol my boyfriend was like 7lb 2oz though.. so we both were not big.. but IDK. His brothers son had a HUGE head! I told my mom the other day that the baby can just stay in my belly lol because I work at a hospital and I went to register a mom that was dialated to 1 and she was screaming, puking, and crying.. I was like OH NO.. lol

Oh it hurts like fire! But it's not that bad... I was dialated 1cm for 2 weeks prior to me being induced (I was diagnosed with preeclampsia)...
I was actually fine until I got my epidural. I didn't work like it was supposed to because the pain was awful! It also made my daughter's heartrate drop from 165 down to 50something.

lol I like how you say it hurts like fire and then that its not that bad.. your just trying not to scare me! lol oh my gosh that must have been so scary for the babies heart rate to drop like that! I have had 3 miscarriages prior to this pregnancy so I've been really worried the entire time.. and I actually didnt even find out I was pregnant until I was about 11 weeks along because I didnt miss my period until like March or something.. Idk I got my period the first month and then missed it the second but decided to wait to test until I missed it again so I was about 12 weeks I guess when I found out and I had gone to parties and stuff a few times before I knew so I was really worried about that but my doctor put me at ease saying that chances are everything will be fine as long as I didnt continue to drink daily. Which I never did.. I just did on weekends every now and then. So when I went for my U/S at about 13 weeks I was soo scared! I remember my heart beating a million beats a minute and when i saw my little baby wiggling around on that screen I burst into tears for the rest of the U/S lol pregnancy is such a miracle

I bet every woman that sees their babies on ultrasounds for the first time cry their eyes out! I know I did!!
I cried the first time I saw the heartbeat. It's amazing.

It really isn't that bad. I'm not going to lie, it hurts but it's tolerable with drugs (for me) haha.
Think about it, if it were THAT bad, women would never have second or third or even 5th children...
