Light period? Stress? Antibiotic? Implantation bleeding?

I had sex three weeks ago (my first time and last day of my period). We also used condom. After that I was put on antibiotics for a UTI (5 days). After 2weeks i started spotting/bleeding (bright red to brown) with cervical fluid its too early for me to have my period. Its started light and become heavy(lighter than normal) I was just wondering if it's possible that I'm pregnant or it is has something to do with the antibiotics? Heelpp!!

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out

Pregnancy occurs when you have unprotected intercourse close to ovulation which is close to day 14 of your menstrual cycle. Since you had intercourse on the last day of your periods and that too protected, chances of pregnancy are less.

Main causes of bleeding between periods could be due to pregnancy, birth control pills, infection in an area of the body related to menstruation (including the vagina, the cervix and even the bladder). Other causes could be polycystic ovarian syndrome, diseases of pituitary gland, hormonal imbalance of estrogen and progesterone and uterine abnormalities like fibroid and cervical dysplasia.

The intermenstrual bleeding has little to do with antibiotics. If the bleeding is heavy then you should consult a gynecologist and get these causes especially hormonal causes ruled out.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
