light bleeding discharge and a little tender

User Profile
Hello. Ive have been on ortho tricyclen lo for going on three months now. I recently had a medical abortion in june and started the pills a month after. I then stopped then started them again after a month of stopping. I'm on my third week of my third month and i have taken my pills every day at the same time. I was on antibiotics for a 3 days the end of my third week of the second month and my period came a day late. I now am starting to have faint light bleeding discharge and my breast get a little tender once in a while. I also am beginning to get very gassy and random cramps. Me and my boyfriend have been having unprotected sex every time we see eachother. So I was wondering can this be a side affect of pregnancy?

Birth Control Answer A18031
Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

Ortho tricyclen lo is a low hormone birth control pill.If you have been taking the pills regularly for three months without missing any dose the chances of pregnancy are very less.
During the first 3 months of pill use some of the common side effects are irregular, infrequent periods, spotting, nausea, vomitting, breast tenderness, headache,
stomach cramps,dizziness.
It seems that you may be experiencing these side effects. If the bleeding becomes heavy or any other symptoms persist then you need to visit a gynaecologist for a proper examination and correct diagnosis.

Take Care!
