Leukemia possible ?

User Profile
Hi. I am a teen and up until recently I have felt pretty normal, however i do experience depression. However, within the last few months, I have experienced EXTREME fatigue, edema in the legs, nausea, loss of appetite, loss of weight, really bad generalized back and leg pain as well as referred pain often in the abdomen and shoulders. ive also seen swelling in my neck and within the past week i have passed out twice. both me and my doctors are really concerned about the possibility of leukemia, however i also suffer from a severe fear of blood and veins. i have tried to overcome it but i have no idea where to start. do my first symptoms sound like leukemia?? and are there any recommendations about what to do about my phobia? thank you so much!

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. Your symptoms need work up to find the organic cause, Its too early to label it leukemia. Consult a locala physician, let them examine and clinically correlate your symptoms and proceed accordingly.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
