Legs, arms and head feel weak all the time. Legs feel uncomfortable when standing up for long periods of time. Seem to improve a little with rest and get worst with little sleep, but feels like im stuck in this weakness. During day I have muscle twitches all over body and small tremors on both hands. At night I have internal vibrations while sleeping. Started subtle in the legs and then got worse. I also have neck pain and lightheadedness every now and then.

Muscular and Nerve Disorders Answer A63385
Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

It is very difficult to give a pin-point diagnosis on net. Extreme weakness, twitches vibrations could be due a number of causes such as low testosterone, anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, low vitamin D, low vitamin B12, or due to kidney or liver problems. Another possibility is sleep disturbances (like sleep apnea, imbalance of rapid eye and non rapid eye movement sleep etc.). You may sleep your customary 7-8 hours and yet feel fatigued. You may need sleep studies to rule this out.

Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, low iron, low calcium, sodium and potassium. Hyperthyroidism too causes increased sweating and tiredness. Postviral fatigue syndrome is another possibility. Persisting EBV infection or mono can also be the cause.

A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please consult your healthcare provider for further guidance. This reply to your query is just for education and counseling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit and treatment by a doctor who can examine you. Hope this helped you in making an informed decision about your health. Take care!

Thanks Doctor! Blood tests came back negative other than a little bit of vitamin D deficiency, which has helped a lot. I still feel imbalance while walking and lightheaded especially in the mornings. Sometimes I feel dizzy and have headaches at night. I think it has to do with my neck or lower back. I had some X-rays taken of neck and nothing found. Head movements sort of make it worse. Any other suggestions?
