Left foot arch pain with simultaneous left side ab pain (Page 2)

February 13th, 2016
Stinging pain in arch and ab.
Funny that there is no follow up to posts from 2014 and now! I have the same thing. First started only in left foot. Podiatrist gave me insoles. No help! Now a few months later, left upper ab and foot same . Lasts for a few seconds but then gone for a few days. I do have back issues (I see a Chiro and Acupuncturist). My blood work shows higher levels of c-protein in blood so I go back for more tests next month. Primary also suggested I see RA.

Surprising!!! many have similar experience. It's happening with Me since couple of days. The left back tingles with sharp pain along with with left leg 2nd last finger ( ring ), it pains for few seconds with intervals. May need accu-pressure therapy to minimise the pain.

The last post here is from 2015. Did anyone find out what this is? It happened to me last year randomly and lasted for 2 years, and it happened for the first time in a year today. Repeatedly.

I am 28 female and have been having these pains for about 10 years now at least. They come out of nowhere and for me are to the right of my naval (if looking at me) and in my left big toe, almost through the whole toe like a skewer but it doesn't go any further up.
The pain is very intense short bursts which are repeated maybe 8 or so times before it stops. The abdomen pain is like an outer itch but with a more concentrated probing deeper dull pain at the same time.
This is the oddest thing I experience and always happens at exactly at the same time like I'm a puppet and someone's got the strings mixed up.
The only thing I can think is maybe there must be something else we all have in common? This has happened today and yesterday I had a heavy body combat session, maybe that's a contributing factor? I also get random shooting pains across my rib cage, this is due to occasional inflammation of the bits in between the ribcage which mean as I breathe in and chest expands the pain shoots further round when the attacks happen.
I am a moderately fit person with an office job. I spend a lot of time at a computer and have a fairly healthy diet. But if I were critical, on paper I am overweight. I eat more salt than sugar and take the contraceptive pill. I occasionally suffer dizzy spells and light headedness.
Is there anyone who knows about this?
Thanks--- M

I was having these pains today and this was the only thing I could find. It's odd there are so many other people experiencing this but no Drs are aware. I started having sharp stabbing pains in my right side under my rib cage. With each stab, I felt a matching stab on the top of my right foot. The pain was pulsing and severe enough I had to stop what I was doing and buckled over. It only lasted a few minutes. I'm a 34 year old female. I have neuropathy in other areas but the Drs don't know the cause.

Well it's good to know that I'm not going crazy. I have the exact same pain. I am a pretty healthy guy, but that is the strangest pain ever. Prayerfully it's just a small nerve issue from the pressure on my feet.

I don't know why I've never looked this up before; it's been happening to me for years. A stabbing, electric pain shoots into my left gut and into the arch of my left foot simultaneously. It attacks four or five times within a few seconds, then it's gone. Today I was sitting on the edge of the tub with my 4-year-old son on my lap, and I was leaning forward. I'll have to pay attention next time, if the pain starts with a lean or a twist in some direction. Crazy stuff!

So glad I came across this! I've had this for years off and on and it's been happening again this week. Mine is in the left of my abdomen close to my hip and at the same time in the front of the left heel right behind the arch. Will pay closer attention when it happens to see what's going on at the time. Perhaps any stress that may be higher than usual or if I moved in a certain way. Hope one of us can figure it out Smile

left rib left ankle - simultaneous sharp, but brief pain
Ok - I had this pain during the night and again once this morning. It's a sharp pain in my left rib and outer left ankle. 2 seconds and it's gone. Hmmmmmmmm.

Middle of the top of my left foot and left side ribs. Just started about 30 minutes ago. Very sharp and painful. Occuring about every 2 minutes. This is fun...

I should add that I'm 39 and not active with exercise. I do have ulcerative colitis. The rib half of the pain feels similar to the sharp pains i was having when i started coming down with shingles last year. Thankfully, that was caught before it became an issue.

I have the same thing, intermittently...sharp pain then gone. Regular docs and acupuncturist baffled...mine is left inside ankle and left rib, just 3" to the left of the sternum. Weird...

It would be interesting to share more of our medical background to see if there are any significant correlations that might lead somewhere.

I'm 65 y.o. male, mild liver issues, a bit of calcification in heart (55th Percentile for my age)...very active...arthritis and scoliosis, lower back degenerative disc, but no other sig. health problems.

Play basketball regularly and do yoga...eat a ketogenic diet, I do seem to have intermittent digestive issues, but may be from cleaning up my diet the last year or two...don't really know.

Have had anxiety issues. The ankle/rib thing I can't really pin down to any kind of external causation, like "this and that" were going on in my life when I get the pain...

I'll be looking for your replies!

Hello All,. I am a 45 yr old female and I'm of normal weight and BMI with no health problems and have been a strict Vegan for 2 years. I just started having the same weird phenomenon. My pain started a couple days ago and the pain is a sharp intense pain in the arch of my right foot and in the right upper abdomen. It lasts just a few seconds but happens several times a day. It's quite painful and bothersome. If anyone could help me out it would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I have had this problem since I was a child and I am now 64. Sharp pain in right middle abdomen and middle of right foot like they were connected by a wire! I had acupuncture about 20 years ago and it made the problem go away until a few days ago and it has come back with a vengeance. Very strange. When I was a kid i stuck a pitch fork through my foot when I was helping in my grandmother's garden and I always thought it was something to do with that but after reading the other posts probably not.

I have read every entry going back to 2014, i feel a little bit like some of you - fairly relieved that i'm not the only one but discouraged as well as no mention of a definite cause. I'm a 49 y/o male, about 25 pounds over weight with diabetes. For the last couple of years i've suffered from anxiety and some panic attacks about once, maybe twice a week. About one year ago i hurt my back moving and just dealt with it with IBUPROFEN thinking it would heal up, lately it's been chronic. I am not as active as i use to be as i'm on the computer about 8 hours a day. This just started today (simultaneous pain in my left heel of my foot and the left side of my lower abdomen) Sometimes every minute or two and sometimes once an hour. Anyways, just thought i'd share as i have yet to find any other information on this anywhere. Cheers!

I know that ankle pain hurts a lot. I have gone through similar problem which you have. I have a suggestion for you. You can try ankle compression sleeves. These sleeves will not only provide support but will also help in recovery from the injury.

Me too. Started yesterday, left foot, 4th metatarsal and upper left quadrant. 34yo female. Previous hx of endometriosis. Also anxiety and depression. I'm more convinced it's connected to reproductive organs than mental health?!
