late with no spotting or bleeding, just sore boobs

i am now 5 days late, ive been crampy for about 4 days now and i usually dont cramp until my period starts but i am 5 days late with no spotting or bleeding, just sore boobs ive been wearing a sports bra for comfort and ive been sleepy during the day but can t sleep at night also feeling bloating sometime but not all the time.When i cough i gag sometime, help! When can i take a home pregnancy test and it'll give me an accurate answer? or is it possible that i even am pregnant? Thanks!

Hi, and thanks for your query on eHealth forum!

If you have regular periods and are five days late then you can take a pregnancy test now. Buy a good home pregnancy test or go for a blood test for pregnancy. Cramps and bloating with delayed periods can also be due to polycystic ovary or due to low thyroid function. However, this would cause delayed periods on and off along with cramps and/or bloating. So, if this has been happening on and off then please consult your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
