Getting Pregnant Answer A25974
Hello Deepak,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
A woman is close to her fertile days (time of ovulation/egg release from ovary) after finishing with her periods, hence any unprotected intercourse after her periods can put her at risk for pregnancy (especially if she is not on any form of birth control measures). Her bleeding could be suggestive of possibility of pregnancy related implantation bleeding or even ovulation bleeding. Look out for development of any other new symptoms suggestive of early pregnancy if pregnancy is suspected. Wait and watch for her periods. If she does not start with periods within 10 days of expected period dates or if she develops any new symptoms suggestive of early pregnancy, or if she gets abnormal periods, she should visit her doctor/gynecologist for further examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). You should have considered using emergency contraception within 48 hours of unprotected sexual contact if you were not ready for pregnancy.
Take care.
