Paralysis (or being paralyzed) is usually a neurological disorder (a problem with the nerves).

There are many causes of paralysis: trauma, stroke, disease, infection, metabolic disorders, etc.

The underlying cause of the paralysis has to be addressed, as paralysis itself is a symptom, rather than a disease.

You need to speak with the patient's physician about the proper management for this symptom. Without knowing the cause, it is not possible to provide you with the proper treatment.

Wishing your and your relative the best. Good luck.
