had a recent kidney infection and a week later i had a large bruise in the kidney area. should i be concerned

Hello, and thanks for your medical question on E Health Forum.

From the history provided it seems that you might be having a persistent infection, in the blood.

If the bruise was not related to any form of trauma, then it might be a result of platelet dysfunction.

You might benefit by consulting your doctor, for a physical examination, after which he can order blood tests and culture sensitivity to detect the cause of infection or any platelet disorder. In addition a urinalysis and ultrasound of the kidney might be helpful to rule out any abnormality with the kidneys.
