Yes, kidney failure can cause menstrual disturbance like irregular menstruation, infertility, spotting etc. It can cause low back ache. However due to metabolic disturbances one can have peripheral neuropathy affecting any nerve and this can cause upper back ache.

It can also be due to pinched nerve or due to involvement of liver or pancreas or even a referred pain. Please get this investigated. Hope this helps. Take care!
