Welcome to e health forum.

Chances of pregnancy in healthy woman, after a single episode of unprotected sexual intercourse is only about 20-25 %, provided the woman has a healthy and regular menstrual cycles, the intercourse occurred during the fertile period of her menstrual cycle (day 12 - 16 of the menstrual cycle of 28 days).

Having sex in the days out of this fertile period (that is day 1 to 11 & 17 - 28 ) would be less likely to result in pregnancy, and it is considered to be the Safe period.

The possible symptoms that are common in pregnancy include - Missed periods, Breast tenderness, Nausea in the early morning, Vaginal discharge from pinkish white to brownish, Spotting, Fatigue and Increased urge to urinate.

If you have missed your periods, then you should do a urine pregnancy test.

Currently available URINE based home pregnancy tests, are highly sensitive. These tests are recommended to be done at least 1 day after the missed period. A repeat test after 1 week of the missed period, can be considered definitive for a positive pregnancy test.

If it is still negative, it is likely that you might have missed your cycle, and this could not be related to pregnancy.

Delayed Periods can be caused by other causes including - Stress, anxiety, hormonal disorders (like Hypothyroidism) or due to other physiological causes.

If you have doubts, It would be advisable that you consult with your doctor and seek a proper medical opinion.

I hope this helps.
