iud placed in almost 2 years ago

Hi im 25 yrs old and have 2 children that were both conceived on the birth control pill i have now had an iud placed in almost 2 years ago i am having light bleeding after intercourse and now had a 5 day late period and is dark brown as well as am abdomin feeling tight could you help me with some suggestions to what this could possibly be thanks

Bleeding after intercourse, late periods, dark brown bleeding, and abdominal discomfort all can be signal of pelvic infection. Do not ignore your symptoms. Consider getting a check done with your gynecologist. Another possibility is that these could be indicating pregnancy with the IUD in place. The examination and tests done would confirm/rule out pregnancy. Do not delay your visit to the gynecologist/obstetrician.
